Do you know the book/movie “He‘s Just Not That Into You”?

It‘s a genius guide written by famous author/comedian Greg Behrendt explaining when it is time for a lady to run for the hills in a relationship. Greg is convinced there are certain signs which show when a guy just doesn‘t care about a girl.

Often businesses do things which make their customers feel the same way. It‘s time to turn things around and ensure we do the opposite! We don‘t want customers running for the hills. We want them to stay with us and fall in love with our business over and over again.

So here are 6 tips to show your customers just how much you love them:

I’m about to make a wild, extreme and severe relationship rule: the word busy is a load of crap and is most often used by a**holes. The word “busy” is the relationship Weapon of Mass Destruction.

  • Make this your golden (24 hour) rule! You‘re never too busy for your customers and you should aim at responding to all queries within 24 hours. This shows that you care and that the customer is important to you. Even if you know you won‘t be able to deal with an enquiry in the next 24 hours, don‘t ignore it, let them know you‘re on it!

customer relationshipIf he creates expectations for you, and then doesn‘t follow through on little things, he will do same for big things. Be aware of this and realize that he‘s okay with disappointing you.

  • We definitely don‘t want our customers to feel like we‘re ok with disappointing them! The key is delivering on small and big things. If you promise to have a first design draft to your customer within a week, do it! If you promise to deliver a whole new website within 3 months, stick with it! No excuses. And make sure it is good, too. No one likes half a job.

Customer relationship marketingHere‘s something else to think about: calling when you say you‘re going to is the very first brick in the house you are building of love and trust. If he can‘t lay this one stupid brick down, you ain‘t never gonna have a house baby, and it‘s cold outside.

  • This one goes with the delivery rule above. Always call your customer back if you have promised to do so. It is a no brainer.

Customer Loving TipHe avoids the “getting-to-know you” conversations! He will flatter you! He will tell you how amazing you are! But he doesn‘t really know anything about you. If you fall for this, don‘t expect a call anytime soon.

  • Make an effort to get to know your customer. Like in any relationship, listen to your customers‘ goals, expectations and dreams. Make notes of the things that make them happy. If John likes a flat white in the morning, write it down and have it ready for him the next time you sit down to talk. It‘s the little things that matter in a relationship.

  • No one wants to be cut short. Take your time talking to your customer and always respond to an enquiry, no matter how small it is. It will make them feel appreciated and important. Everyone wants to feel that way!

Marketing PreperationHe puts little planning into your date. He tells you that he wants to hang out and watch a movie or something. A guy that is really into you will plan a date. Even if the date doesn‘t cost him a dime, he will plan.

  • Always make an effort with your customers. Take time to prepare your meetings and wow them with how much thought you‘ve put into every aspect of your work. Be prepared for questions. Invest that little bit of extra effort to show them that you care and that you want to exceed their expectations.

If you follow these simple steps for customer loving, your clients will stay in love with you and continue the long-term relationship you have built with patience and care. Happily ever after is possible, even in business.
