Christo: Hi there! In this video tip, I want to share a couple of things. We’ve recently been talking to some Basic Bananas members, some business owners about to basically reduce procrastination and really to increase productivity and something we were discussing was around the~ when you have a deadline coming, or like the new year, it feels like it’s a clean slate when you start a new year. So people set all of these new year’s resolutions and they like to get a lot of~ most of us like to get a lot of things done before the year ends. So this~ kind of like… this real deadline. Now deadlines are nothing new, but a great way to think about your tasks that you’re doing is to create a clean slate. So if you’ve had ongoing tasks which are just sort of carrying almost like a burden on you and you know, you haven’t been able to get to them; creating a clean slate can be when it’s a new year, or it could simply be a Monday so at the start of each week. You just create a clean slate, you say, “All right everything pushed aside, now I re-planned this new week completely fresh.” What works for me is having a holiday. I have a holiday booked in. If I have a big enough holiday a similar thing happens to new year’s, I feel like I’ve got to get a lot of things done before I go on holiday so I can really turn off and I can really enjoy myself and then when I come back it’s like a clean slate. So you can create your own, “The bigger you make the thing, the more seriously you’ll take it,” however, you can just recreate every single week. So look for opportunities to kind of create this feeling of like a clean slate to start fresh and you can do it, you can make up your own ways to do it and so there’s a little tip for you. If you have other productivity tips you love, feel free to share them in the comments anywhere here.
