(0:35) Get clear on tasks

(1:35) Categorize

(2:30) Revenue growth activities

Christo : Hey there and welcome back. In this tip, I want to share two important things to think about when you are doing any task in business. It‘s whether it‘s making you money or it‘s costing you money because every single thing that you do and your team does, every single minute in every single day while working in the business, it‘s either draining revenue out of the business or it‘s boosting revenue into the business. So we need to get really clear on everything we‘re doing as we do our tasks so that we make sure that we focus on the revenue-growing activities. Otherwise, we could just be a sinking ship.

I‘m sharing this tip from the California desert. Apparently, this is a Joshua tree. We‘re out here in the middle of the desert. The business is supporting as well while we‘re doing this traveling stuff. A lot of you know we travel quite a lot. But the key is, a lot of the time that we‘re doing business, a lot of the time we spend in business, it‘s not always effective. It‘s not always totally effective things that we‘re doing. So we need to make sure that the things that we do and we get done every single day is going to be some of these critical things that boost the revenue in the business.

So what I mean by this is, and you need to really be strict on yourself with this, even things like bookkeeping, they‘re not increasing the revenue, research tasks – they‘re not increasing the revenue, travel time and things like this. Looking over your to-do list even at the start of the day and thinking how can I categorize everything I am doing? Is that increasing revenue in the business? Or is it costing us? Is it making the business fly or is it making the business sink? That‘s how important you need to look at these tasks. How extreme the difference is.

Certain things like marketing activities, if you are writing a blog article, that is something that could increase your revenue, increase traffic. If you are putting a post on social media, not getting distracted on social media because that is costing your time, that‘s something that‘s making the business sink. But if you are on social media strategically, posting, generating new exposure, putting an ad, working on your Facebook advertising, working on your online Google advertising, any of these things, working on a new sales page on your site, making a sales call, contacting a past customer, working on your referrals strategy, working on a press release, all the marketing activities. In Basic Bananas and in our Clever Bunch, it‘s like we want to make people have that time, every single month that they work with us, where they absolutely working on revenue-growth activities in a guided way and basically, it forces the business to grow by forcing these times. So if you want to move the needle in the right direction as quickly as possible, categorize your tasks. What‘s making us money? What‘s costing us money? And do the things that make money first. Every single day, work with your team to make sure they‘re doing the same as well

So that‘s the tip for today. If you know someone in business who could do with more revenue, coming through their register in their business, please do go ahead and share this tip with them. We‘d love to hear any thoughts, or any questions or insights from you as well. Post your questions on social media. We look after every single question that we see posted on our social media so we can interact there. Thanks and bye for now
