Franziska: Hi there! Today I am very happy to show you around a very special village here in Sardinia called Seulo. It is a village in the mountains of Sardinia which is an island of Italy; it’s part of Italy and this village here is part of a “Blue Zone”. There are five blue zones in the world that have been discovered where people live the longest and this village here is part of that and I’m just walking you through here. It’s really pretty and I’m walking back to my motorbike. We rented some motorbikes today to go explore the island. It’s stunning… stunning island~Sardinia. And I just wanted to share this with you because it’s very interesting. You can google also ‘blue zones’, and I researched a little bit about it and some of the reasons why people here live the longest, they are the most centenarians here and especially also a lot of men that are more than 100 years old which is quite unusual because generally women live longer than men. And some of the reasons that I found include that people here are very integrated into their family so when the elderly normally in you know some of our western countries get shipped off to retirement villages here they stay part of the family, and they live together with their kids, and the grandkids, and they’re part of the family to also still carry some of the workload which gives them purpose. Some other reasons are the food that people eat here, so fresh food, and especially they also talked about the wine. So this is also~ Sardinia has amazing wine. I’ve been drinking a bit of Sardinian red wine and it’s really delicious and they talk about actually how this wine here is especially good for you, clearly. I mean people live longer and they do drink a lot of
red wine here. And look at this beautiful little passageway here. And what other reasons were there… just look it up. I just wanted to share this with you because it is interesting just google blue zones and you will find the zones in the world, the five of them and then also why they think that people live longer in those areas. Now the second thing I quickly wanted to share with you because obviously this information here is more cultural information, it’s not so much marketing advice; I do want to also quickly share with you one marketing tip that is very important and it’s something that I’ve been talking about with one of our Clever Bunch members at a recent session and that is that it is really important for businesses to personalise and humanise their marketing. And how you do that is by using whether it is you or someone else in your business or even clients as almost like the face of your business. And it’s important because people connect with people, and if you can somehow humanise your business by often sharing a marketing message from the perspective of a human, of you, or someone else, people will connect more than if it’s just a cold message without a face behind. And this is something that I talked about with the business of one of our Clever Bunch members who has a boat accessory business. So rather than making the message impersonal and not really sure where the message is coming from, using the business owner in this case to share the message and to make it more personal. So this is something that you can do you can do this whether you write messages in terms of newsletters, or whether you write an advertising campaign, or any type of marketing that you’re doing where you’re communicating, sharing a story, see if you can use you as a person to share this message from. And this is a great example I’m sharing this from me, from my perspective, through my eyes here in Italy. I’m like showing you a little bit of my personal life almost because I am showing you how~ you know, we’re riding the motorbike here so it’s a bit personal and also when we can see also our example here. When we send out our monthly newsletters, so our monthly updates with our resources, it usually comes also from me. So I write the message myself, I don’t get any of my team members to write it, it actually really comes from me. I tell you a little bit about what’s been happening in our world here at Basic Bananas, and it’s a personalised message and it connects with people. So this is something that you can easily do also in your business. I’m going to turn my camera around now so I can show you around this super beautiful village…

Alright, I’m back here with our motorbikes. You can see the village in the background here. And thanks again for tuning in and thank you for joining me on this little journey here through Sardinia, well, at least to one spot in Sardinia. I hope you like this kind of tip. If you do, let us know so we can share more as we travel and maybe we can share~ I do like sharing some of the cultural stuff too that we learn because it’s important I think to be cultured. You can see our motorbikes right here. Alright. A doppo! Arrivederci! Ciao!
