Christo: Hey there! Welcome back to Basic Bananas TV. In this quick video tip, I’m going to explain your biggest marketing problem and how to solve it. This will help you get a better return from everything you do when it comes to marketing. The biggest challenge is that most top of the funnel marketing activities like ads, let’s say online ads, Facebook ads, google ads, banner ads, any sort of ads; it could be offline ads, magazine ads, or networking events, most of the things, or you know brochures, or letterbox drop, or signage, all of these things, most activities that most people think of when they can when they’re thinking of marketing activities like pretty much everything you think of when it comes to marketing, the purpose of these activities gets lost. Now the purpose of these activities like a social media profile is to generate traffic to your real estate online. That’s its job. Now once that traffic lands on the site we’re not done, even if you pay an expert they might be an expert in google ads and they drive traffic to your website, and they say, ‘yes we got you all these clicks,’ but you’re sitting there thinking, ‘well there’s no money coming through the cash register,’ this doesn’t matter if you’re an online business, offline business, like a business-to-business style business, or business to consumer, or your product or service, or you’re doing 50 million dollars a year, or you get to make your first sale, it’s the same challenge, it’s the same problem. Now that traffic might come across or you pay an expert like that, say like a google ads expert or SEO expert, they drive traffic to there, and they say, ‘my job’s done,’ now you’re not seeing it convert. The reality is, that you need to become the architect of your entire marketing process, and the big problem is from all of these activities, when they land on your website, if two percent, only two percent of them are taking an action towards a sale, like of that traffic, or taking an action towards a sale, that is a good conversion rate for most websites. Now, this is terrible right, because the reality is all the activities you do, if two percent of them take an action towards a sale, and I’m not even saying, buy like become a sale but take an action towards a sale, you might still have to have a meeting with them, convert them, whatever your process is… so what we need to focus on the solution is getting that two percent up. Now the reality is, it’s not usually the problem over here with the traffic, we get better results from these traffic generation strategies when we have better conversion rates from our site, and from our entire process. Now the reality is, that you’ve got to focus on ways to get that percentage up. There are lots of things we can do; you have to keep in mind that some customers will make five minutes to make a decision, and some will take five years. Some will take you to know, five days, five months, it’s basically… we’ve got to own this decision-making period no matter how long it takes for someone to make a decision to buy. Could be through the use of opt-ins, through retargeting, there are lots of stuff we can do. We do a workshop, the Blast Off Marketing Workshop, online, there are face-to-face ones as well. It’s getting that making that two percent, you know 10 making it 20 percent, and really hanging on to that so that all of those leads it’ll add up over time and make life easier for you because it’s like you’ve got a lot of seeds in the garden, and you know they’re going to there’s going to be a good harvest coming next year, next year, next year, you’ve got to nurture every single lead, every one of those traffic visits and convert as best as you can down the track, or it’s forever going to be hard.
