Christo: Today I’m going to share a tip on how to create headlines that convert. Basically convert, as in generate a bigger response rate from prospective customers, new people you want to get the attention of, versus fewer responses. So we want to get more inquiries. Basically, the purpose of a headline is to get the attention of the people you want to get the attention of, like your idea or customer, your idea or market and intrigue them enough so they read the next line. Now, the headline on any marketing material is very important. They are the grandfather of advertising. David Ogilvy, he said five times more people will always read a headline than will read any body-copy, so it’s basically that’s the first filter it’s like the widest part of it you know, like a marketing funnel sometimes the headlines the most seen part, people who are intrigued they read the next line or they click the link or you know, open the brush or whatever actually edit that it is we want them to take. So what are you putting a headline? Well first of all, if it can state who it’s for and intrigue them enough like if it said something like: homeowners you know here are three simple ways to reduce your mortgage repayments. So it’s called out who it is and intrigues them enough to make them read the next line. Also, just think about what you could do is create a list of the top once your products or services can deliver to a customer and problems they can resolve so your products or services can resolve. So a list of wants they have that you can deliver and problems they have that you can resolve then order them in terms of priority the top wants that you can deliver and top problems you can resolve these will be good things to hit on in your headline like as example in that one I said three ways to reduce your mortgage repayment. If that’s a top want, you know, a top concern of people with mortgages which it likely is that’s a good way to go, okay that’s a top one we put that into the headline so you see what I mean so create those lists order them in terms of priority, and that’s how you can generate some really nice headlines. Also, questions are great to use in headlines. Like if you ask it as a question, “would you love three ways to reduce your mortgage?” you know, or “would you love to reduce your mortgage in 30 days?” So because questions we can’t help but even whether it’s sort of consciously or subconsciously answer them in our head, when we see the question it’s you know would you love to learn how to use social media in five days or less, you know you can’t help whatever the question is, we kind of can’t help but answer it, you know, so just keeping on that there are lots of other things we can do with headlines for now. But just for now to make this really clear for you and you’ve got some things to take away and do right away, create that list of top ones you can deliver, problems you can resolve. Think about calling out who your market is in the headline and intriguing them by hitting on one of those top ones or problems in the headline to intrigue them enough to get them to read the next line that’s the purpose of your headlines and all of your marketing material, So you can take that and use that now with those lists you create as well just keep those on hand and you update those as you go. It’s a good idea to think about, you know if things change in your customer base what their top problems are or top wants. And so on your reviews, revisit that over time basically it’s a work in progress and use that in your marketing, basically for the rest of eternity.
