Franziska: Hi and welcome back to Basic Bananas TV. I‘m Franziska and today I want to talk to you about how to become a talkaboutable. Now in today‘s world where we‘re so cluttered and there‘s so much stuff coming at us, we really have to become talkaboutable to be talked about. Now, how do you do that? I‘m going to give you 3 questions. And the first one is, think about in your industry, what is the frustration that people have in your industry and then how can you overcome that? So it could be let‘s say, if you run a restaurant, a frustration could be that the wait is too long or that it would be lovely if a concession could be, it would be lovely to get a little bit which is more desire to get some bread and olive oil before the meal comes. Which is something that the Euros do very much and it‘s so fun if you go to Greece or Italy, when you sit there and meet your friends and then they serve you fresh bread and olive oil and it‘s just a little thing that maybe you could do if you‘re in a different culture. So what‘s the frustration in your market that you could overcome with your business?

Second question is you could ask some customers the question, what would make working with a dentist amazing? What is one thing that you would love when you go to a dentist. Or what is one thing that would make working with an accountant incredible. And again, just listen to what they say. Maybe they‘ll say, you know being at a dentist, well it would be really nice to get a foot massage at the same time. Of course, some of the ideas won‘t be implementable. But just think ask the question, see what they come back with. And the third question you can ask your customers is, why did you choose us? What‘s one thing that made you choose us instead of someone else? And the things that they would tell, you go, oh! I didn‘t realize that there is something special because you‘ve been doing it all your life and you don‘t maybe think that it‘s something unique. But the more the people tell you the one thing and suddenly if it‘s always the same thing, you might actually want to market that a little bit more. And then how you become talkaboutable is you take maybe two, maybe three things that can differentiate you from everyone else. The trick is this, often if you just take one thing. Let‘s say, I‘m a dentist and I‘m also giving foot massages, I know it‘s not the best example, but let‘s say if my competitors are doing this also, then I‘m not that differentiable. But if you pick two or three things in combination, that‘s what makes you different. It‘s not usually just the one thing but it‘s usually a combination of maybe two, three things from the questions that you asked before that can make you a little bit different and that can make you talkaboutable. So have a go and ask these questions maybe over the next 10 days or so and then come back and look at, okay what are some of the things that we can implement and how can we become more talkaboutable.
