This may include learning differences, anxiety, medical considerations, accessibility needs, behavioural considerations or any other support needs.

The parent/guardian agrees to notify Basic Bananas if this information changes during the program.

Online Safety & Technology

This program is delivered entirely online. Sessions will be delivered via Zoom.

The parent/guardian acknowledges and agrees that:

  • a parent/guardian or responsible adult must be aware that the participant is online and participating in each session;
  • a responsible adult must be available in the home during each online session and able to assist the participant if needed;
  • the participant must have access to a suitable device, microphone/camera and stable internet connection;
  • session links must not be shared with anyone outside the program;
  • participants are expected to keep their camera on during sessions unless a technical issue or agreed support need prevents this;
  • private messaging between participants is not permitted;
  • participants, parents/guardians and other household members must not record, photograph, screenshot or share any part of the session without Basic Bananas’ prior written permission; and
  • the participant must notify a parent/guardian or facilitator immediately if anything during a session makes them feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

Sessions may be recorded by Basic Bananas for internal quality, training and safeguarding purposes. These recordings will not be used for public marketing or promotional purposes unless separate media consent has been provided.

Privacy & Personal Information

Your child’s personal information is collected in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, where applicable. It will be used for the purposes of administering, delivering, supporting and evaluating the program, communicating with parents/guardians, managing participant safety and meeting legal obligations.

Personal information will not be disclosed to third parties without consent, except where required or authorised by law, or where reasonably necessary to deliver the program.

Photo, Video and Media Consent

Basic Bananas may photograph, film and/or record participants during the Brighter Future Bunch, including workshops, activities, presentations, pitch events and related program activities.

With parent/guardian consent, Basic Bananas may use the participant’s image, voice, presentation, project work and/or likeness for the purpose of promoting, reporting on and communicating about the program. This may include use on websites, social media, newsletters, brochures, videos, presentations, media releases, funding reports and other promotional or educational materials.

The parent/guardian understands that images and recordings published online may be viewed, shared or copied by others outside Basic Bananas’ control.

Basic Bananas will not publish the participant’s full name, address, contact details, school or other identifying personal details with their image without separate written permission.

No payment will be made for the use of images or recordings.

Consent may be withdrawn at any time by contacting info@basicbananas.com. If consent is withdrawn, Basic Bananas will take reasonable steps to stop future use of the participant’s image. Withdrawal may not affect materials already printed, published, distributed or used before the withdrawal was received.

Ideas, Intellectual Property and Confidentiality

Participants may share ideas, business concepts, inventions, designs, presentations or other materials during the program. The participant and their parent/guardian acknowledge that anything shared during the program is not confidential unless Basic Bananas has agreed otherwise in writing before it is shared.

Participants are responsible for deciding what they share and should not share any idea or information they wish to keep private or commercially protect. Basic Bananas is not responsible if another participant, mentor, facilitator or third party has, develops or uses a similar idea, product, service or business concept.

Nothing in this clause transfers ownership of a participant’s existing intellectual property to Basic Bananas.
